Mars One update

Mars One announces they have converted from a corporation to a Dutch not-for-profit foundation whose primary goal is to take humanity to Mars.
As a Foundation, Mars One will be the employer of the astronauts, both in training here on Earth, and those on Mars. In the first half of 2013 Mars One will launch the astronaut selection program. The search will be global. Even before the launch of the application process, Mars One has received more than 1,000 emails from people all over the world who would like to apply.
Not free people, but employees. So we have another version of the company town. Which is also a suicide mission as proposed. We can do much better. Update: Suicide mission requires clarification. It is a such because it depends on life support built on earth and sends too few people to manage life support on mars. Once enough people are doing ISRU life support on mars that changes.

As much as I like their pragmatic approach I'll say it again. We can do much better.
